It appears I wasn’t hallucinating my visceral response to that flyer “designed” in comic sans…

Those who know me frequently tease about my aversion to “ugly” typefaces (or really, “ugly” design in general). I have educated them on the industry-wide debate about Helvetica. I have refused to purchase products because their label design would ruin the aesthetic of my medicine cabinet, or because I dislike the copywriting in their television commercials. But now it seems there is some kind of brain chemistry that’s finally backing up my seemingly obsessive, mildly elitist tendencies…at least with regards to font selection and typography.

And, yes I said “brain chemistry.” I’m a designer, people, not a neurosurgeon. Enjoy…
